What Sells In The Blogsphere Around Marriage. It’s a Mystery.
ByIt is so interesting what piques people’s interest.
Sex sells. (Yes, it does.) But, so does confusion, apparently.
Since I launched this blog nine months ago, I am continuously surprised at what draws people to actually “click” and read. For instance, How to Marry a Man after 40, didn’t do so well. (I thought it’d be a best seller.) And, I kinda knew that blog post, Slow Sex. And, Turn Off Your Cell, would rock the house. But, never in a million years did I think the number one blog post on Late Bloomer Bride would be this: Too Good To Leave, Too Bad To Stay. I mean, I knew ambivalence was alive and well, but, wow. More than 500 visits?
So, I checked and re-checked stats. Naturally, the home page gets all the love first. But, then, it’s a mystery as to why these following posts are the top ten — at least in statistics land. The best-selling Late Bloomer Bride blog postings are as follows:
• Book: Too Good to Leave, Too Bad to Stay
• About the Author (They think, is she licensed to write like this? I am not.)
• Just When You Think Romance Has Left The Building (It’s a mystery.)
• About this Blog (At this point, they are thinking, what the heck is this?)
• Articles (I found some good ones.)
• Wonder If You Could Get Married Over Age 40 (Which leads me back to my earlier question about why only 18 people read How to Marry a Man after 40 – and I tweeted it twice!)
• Slow Sex. And, Turn Off Your Cell. (Enough said.)
• Cougar Versus Sophisticat. Your vote? (I dunno…)
• Forever Young? Not Me. (Well, it is about plastic surgery, after all.)
• Of Commitment and Hot Pink Beach Chairs (I can explain this one. It was after I was featured on Blog of the Week on WCAV-TV. The power of TV.)
Any ideas, peeps? What causes you to click? What do you want to read about?

Just wondering if it has anything to do with where people have bookmarked it? For instance, I bookmarked your blog when the current post was “Just when you think romance has left the building”, so every time I open your blog it opens to that page….then I refresh to get the current post. I don’t know if that has anything to do with the statistics, but maybe??

Ah, maybe! Thanks for bookmarking the site.
I noticed though that every day someone google searches for that book “Too Good to Leave, Too Bad to Stay.” (Wordpress tells me this.) Guess it’s popular!
