My husband may ask me to edit my shoe collection, as long as in return I am allowed to get rid of his trains (in a box for the 20+ years I’ve known him), his Little League trophies from 35 years ago (for participation, not winning), and his extensive collection of videotapes (and the VCR) and laserdiscs (and the laserdisc player) that are never watched. In other words, my shoe collection is safe … and growing.
