Since I am elbow deep in writing my new book, I haven’t had time to think of anything juicy to write here. So, I give you the Butterfly Post.

We have a butterfly bush forest on our land, which includes about 35 bushes as tall as a man. A few bushes are spread throughout the property. But, they are mostly concentrated in one 40 foot by 20 foot area.

This means we have hundreds of butterflies. They flit from blossom to blossom.

All different colors and species.

Oh, and the blooms smell WONDERFUL. I now have bunches of them in little bouquets all around the house. Too bad this blog doesn’t offer scratch-and-sniff.

Isn’t this couple cute?

Of course. Callum finds them fascinating. Here is he after realizing he has been outrun – again — by ALL of them.

I just want one, mom. They look tasty.

Butterflies: 100. Callum: 0

  1. You could sell tickets! A hilltop butterfly attraction… I love buddleia bushes, too.
