Welcome

You have landed on a blog for — and about — late bloomer brides. An LBB is someone who was married for the first time over age 40.

You see, I got married for the first time at age 42 (about 20 years after Grammie had hoped). I didn’t plan for it that way. (Or maybe I did? Hmmm.) Well, that’s what happened. And, though I always was a late bloomer, this sorta took the cake.

When seeking marital advice I found two camps:

  • Those people who have been married since they were in their 20s, and
  • Those peeps who have never been married at all.

Both groups (still) look at me like I have six heads when I ask questions about marriage.

So, consider this blog a memoir with a purpose. It is for all the late bloomers out there – especially the newly married kind who are trying to figure out how to take a fully formed life and merge it with someone who finally turned out to be Mr. Right. I don’t claim to have any answers. But, hopefully I’ll give you some things to think about and, of course, comment upon. Read on!
